Paul’s new Vito 120CDI has plenty of bottle26th February 2007, 0:05 Beer and wine importer Paul Scrimshaw is toasting the arrival of his new Mercedes-Benz van, the most powerful on the market. He is now using the stylish Vito 120CDI Dualiner on his journeys to source the finest beverages from the Continent for his Altrincham-based company, Dranke Centrale. Supplied by Enza’s Van Centre in Manchester, the Extra Long Vito boasts a 204hp V6 turbo-diesel engine, alloy wheels, air-conditioning and an automatic transmission with Tipfunction. As a Dualiner model, it comes fitted with glazed side doors and a second row of seats. Paul reckons it is the perfect vehicle for his business – as well importing pallets of specialist drinks, he uses it for corporate entertaining, and for ferrying clients to specialist real ale and continental beer venues around Cheshire and Manchester city centre, as well as to tasting sessions at his showroom. Says Paul: “My new Vito can take the weight of a heavy pallet yet handles as well as a car, while it’s also powerful but very quiet. I have been a Mercedes car driver for years but now I prefer to get behind the wheel of the new van.” Paul and his business partner Wyn Reece are now clocking up the miles in the Vito on their many travels to the vineyards of France and Italy. The pair also use it to visit Belgian monasteries and buy specialist ‘Trappist’ beers from breweries run by monks! |
